World of Concrete, Las Vegas, USA, was founded in 1975 and hosted by Informa Exhibitions. It is the world’s largest exhibition in the concrete construction and masonry industry and has been held for 43 sessions so far. After years of development, the brand has expanded to the United States, Canada, Brazil, France and India and other parts of the world.
In November 2016, Informa Exhibitions and Shanghai Zhanye Exhibition announced the establishment of a joint venture company – Shanghai Yingye Exhibition Co., Ltd. to introduce the brand of Concrete World Expo to China.
On December 4-6, 2017, the first WOCA was successfully held in Shanghai New International Expo Center. 2017 is also the first year of the establishment of the BERSI factory. As a professional manufacturer of Concrete Vacuum Cleaners, we participated in this exhibition and meet some new customers from Russia, Australia,USA etc. The 2017 exhibition is said to be the best in history.
Since then, every December, colleagues in the flooring industry from all over the country gather in Shanghai to share the latest trending products and technologies in the industry. Until the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic in 2020, all domestic exhibitions were basically cancelled. During the three years of the epidemic, many foreign customers were unable to enter China. The exhibition in 2023 is the first concrete exhibition since the eoidemic ends, the time has also been adjusted from December to August 10-12.
So, what is the effect of this exhibition?
Overviewing from the scene, concrete-related products are mainly concentrated in Halls E1 and E2. Suppliers of concrete machinery and equipment are mainly located in Hall E2.
Hall E2 has Xinyi, ASL, JS these well-known floor grinding machine factories in the industry. They not only have stable customers in the domestic, but also enjoy a certain reputation in overseas markets. Diamond blade as a necessary tool for floor construction, there are many Chinese factories. Manufacturers that can be seen at World Of Concrete Las Vegas in the past, such as Ashine and Bontai, also participated in this exhibition.
Floor Grinder, Concrete Dust Extractor and Diamond Tools are the three-piece set necessary for the work of European and American international flooring workers. But in the Chinese market, the vacuum cleaner is a dispensable role. Many domestic contractors do not use vacuum cleaners during construction, so you can often see flying silt on construction sites in China. People are often invisible due to the fine dust full of the room, and many workers don’t even wear masks. Many European and American contractors exclaimed in disbelief in such worse working environment. In developed countries, especially the United States and Australia, the government has strict requirements on the construction environment, and all concrete construction sites must comply with H-class vacuum cleaners that meet OSHA standards. In some states of Australia, new government laws even require industrial vacuum cleaners to meet the H14 standard. Compared with the high standards of these countries, China’s laws and regulations in this field are still very immature. This can also explain why there are very few industrial vacuum cleaner factories at this exhibition.
BERSI hardly engages in the Chinese market, and 98% of its vacuum cleaners are sold overseas. We did not participate in this year’s exhibition. But our team went to the exhibition as a visitor to learn the latest developments in the flooring industry in the Asia-Pacific market.
The overall impression of this exhibition is that it is not in a good mood, especially overseas buyers are much less than before the epidemic. Most foreign customers come from Southeast Asia. The scale of the entire exhibition is very small, you can basically visit it in 2-3 hours. The homogenization of equipment in many factories is relatively serious, there is a relatively large gap between the research and development and innovation of new products compared with those in Europe, America and Australia.
