How to calculate the number of air scrubbers for a job?

To make the process of calculating the number of air scrubbers you need for a specific job or room easier, you can use an online air scrubber calculator or follow a formula. Here's a simplified formula to help you estimate the number of air scrubbers required:
Number of Air Scrubbers = (Room Volume x Air Changes per Hour) / CADR of One Air Scrubber

Here's how to use this formula:
1.Room Volume: Calculate the volume of the room in cubic feet (CF) or cubic meters (CM). This is typically done by multiplying the room's length, width, and height.cubic feet or cubic meters = length * width * height

2.Air Changes per Hour: Determine the desired air changes per hour, which depends on the specific air quality issues you're addressing. For general air purification, 4-6 air changes per hour are often recommended. For more severe contamination, you may need higher rates.

3.CADR of One Air Scrubber: Find the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of one air scrubber, which is typically provided in CFM (cubic feet per minute)  or CMH (cubic meters per hour). Bersi B1000 air scrubber provides CADR at 600CFM(1000m3/h), B2000 industrial air cleaner provides CADR at 1200CFM(2000m3/h).

4.Calculate the Number of Air Scrubbers: Plug the values into the formula:

Number of Air Scrubbers = (Room Volume x Air Changes per Hour) / CADR of One Air Scrubber.

Let's calculate the air Air Scrubbers for a Job by an example.
Example 1 : Commercial room 6m x 8m x 5m

For this example we will calculate the number of air scrubbers required for a job. The size of the room we are focusing on is 6 meters long, 8 meters wide and has a 5 meters drop ceiling. For our example, we will be using a Bersi air scrubber B2000 rated at 2000 m3/h. Here are those steps using the inputs in our example:

1.Room Size: 6 x 8 x 5 = 240 cubic meter

2.Air change per hour: 6

3.CADR: 2000 m3/h

4.Number of Air Scrubbers:(240x6)/2000=0.72 (At least need 1 machine)

Example 2 : Commercial room 19′ x 27′ x 15′

In this example, our room size is measured by feet instead of meter. The length is 19 foot, width 27 foot, height is 15 foot. Will still use Bersi B2000 air scrubber with CADR 1200CFM.
Here is the result,

1.Room Size: 19' x 27'x 15'= 7,695 cubic feet

2.Changes each hour:  6

3.CADR:1200 CFM(cubic feet per minute).  We have to transfer cubic feet per minute to per hour, that is 1200*60 mins=72000

4.Number of Air Scrubbers:(7,695*6)/72000=0.64 (One B2000 is enough)
